I've had dogs, cats, a pot bellied pig, a domestic skunk, a hamster, goldfish, several varieties of parrots, chickens, mice, and I hope I'm not forgetting anyone.

I could go on and on about how much joy and fun these adorable animals have brought into our home. They say cats can be therapeutic. I've heard that just sitting and stroking a cat can relax a person enough to lower blood pressure. I know it's got to be true!

I had a Doberman, who will always hold a special place in my heart. He was so tender and loving, we often joked that he was my son's nanny. I have a lab retriever now. He's fourteen years young and in great shape. His ""job"" is to chase rabbits and squirrels, and he takes that job very seriously. We take the job of keeping him healthy very seriously too.

I was pleased at his last check up to hear the doctor say, ""I can hardly believe he's that old!"" Our pets are family members that we enjoy as long as we can have them."
